Leaving No One Behind

Digni support the empowerment of people who live in poverty, particularly women and girls, and communities ‘left behind in development’, enabling them to obtain their fair share of resources, opportunities, participation and influence regarding decisions affecting their lives.

Individual and communities left behind include people who live in extreme poverty and/or social marginalisation caused by factors such as gender, disability, ethnicity, religious identity or sexual orientation.

Being left behind can lead to lack of access to basic health and education services, exclusion from employment and power abuses in the struggle for equity and improved living conditions. It also increased the vulnerability to climate change, natural catastrophes or health pandemics/hazards.
