NMS-Green Livelihood Program in Western Ethiopia (Green LIP)

The general objective of the programme is improved livelihood of the target communities, especially for women and youth, in Oromia and Benishangul-Gumuz regional states in Ethiopia. The program is designed to address the socio-economic problems of the communities in the target areas regardless of religion, ethnicity, gender and age. Especially women and youth in the target communities should be able to access income and legal rights. Peaceful coexistence in the target communities is sought through maintaining traditional conflict management mechanisms and transfer of knowledge to the younger generation. Main outcomes from the program should be enhanced care for the environment among the target communities along with practising of sustainable agriculture that is resilient to climate change.
