The project title is “Strengthening Gender-Based Violence Prevention in Moyamba District”, and the overall goal is to change the current socio-cultural norms that underpin ongoing GBV in Moyamba District. The programme will establish and empower Community GBV Prevention Support Groups to enable communities to provide support for victims of GBV. CESLAD will organize confidence-building training for girls and women and formation of Girls club in schools, to lead women and girls breaking the silence on GBV by reporting. There will be formation of boys’ club in schools with Masculinity Training for Men and Boys that will lead them to serve as gender champions in their communities.
The project will also encourage and train community members to create village saving groups for emergencies and support to victims of GBV.
