The MHIP addresses high levels of mental health problems and difficulties faced by people with psychosocial disability (PPSD) in Herat and Ghor provinces of Afghanistan. The project works with cultural and gender sensitivity, closely cooperating with the Government of Afghanistan, communities and their leaders, civil society organizations, health providers and families of PPSDs, aiming to change attitudes and behaviors ensuring that PPSDs are mentally well, socially, and economically included.
