Digni arranged two regional network meetings in November 2023. The last network meetings were held in 2019. Due to the pandemic, we have not been able to have any physical network meetings before now.
The network meetings served as a platform for partners to foster connections, share insights, and explore collaborative opportunities, aiming to facilitate mutual learning and cooperation.
The network meeting in Kenya was held from 6-8th of November and the network meeting in Asia was held from 21- 23rd of November. Around 70-80 partners, members and Digni staff participated at each network meeting. The network meetings consisted of workshops, presentations, and networking.
Some of the topics discussed in the meetings included addressing climate change and environmental challenges, securing inclusion of people with disabilities, FoRB and anti-corruption.
At both of the meetings we also made sure to celebrate Dignis 40th year anniversary. At the Asia meeting there was also an interactive exhibition, where all the partners got the opportunity to present their projects to the participants. The participants pointed out that it was very enlightening to learn about the different partners and projects.
Following a three-day intensive meeting, participants expressed high satisfaction with the network gathering. Here is some of the feedback we received from them:
Nurgul Khyzmyet Project officer, NLM Mongolia
It is my first time here. I learned a lot from this network meeting. I am very thankful for Digni and the organizers. I have talked to many participants from Asia and lots of people from Digni. I found especially the parallel session on international child development program very interesting.
Nhanh Channtha, Program Officer, Mission Alliance, Cambodia
I really enjoyed networking with the other participants and the discussions in smaller groups. I also learned more about Digni. I particularly liked the sessions about risk management and international child development. Hosting the cultural event was exciting and got fun after a while.
Sisekelo Nzima, Director NATICC Eswatini
Totally enjoyed and learnt a lot in a comfortable environment. The style and the knowledge of the presenters, above all what stood out for me were the side networking sessions which were testament of how rich the Digni family is. I came out with so much insight and knowledge which then gave birth to future partnerships with other projects which indeed will strengthen the Digni network.
Memory Orode, Program Manager, United Bible Societies, Kenya
The subjects presented at the Digni conference extended into subsequent discussions with the United Bible Societies – Africa Youth Service (AYS) Team relating to freedom of religion and belief, creation care, and understanding the project life cycle, specifically sustainability and exit strategy. Additionally, we had the honor of celebrating DIGNI’s 40-year anniversary, commemorating a journey that has positively transformed countless lives worldwide.
Joel Varghese Cheriyan, ESAF Foundation, India
The network meeting was very good. I am very new to the project, so it was great to get some exposure to Digni. I learned a lot about Digni and its members and partners. I particularly liked the interactive installations stalls. In that way I got to know what the other organizations are doing.
Digni hopes that the two regional network meetings were good platforms for experience sharing and competence building! Overall, we received positive feedback from the participants and they especially appreciated the valuable discussions, which contributed to important reflections and learning points.
